Podiatrists Podiatrists are doctors that specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Podiatrists have expertise in orthopedics, radiography, sports medicine, dermatology, and surgery. Some of the conditions that podiatrists treat include: ankle injuries, bunions, calluses, neuromas, running injuries, and toe deformities. Podiatrists also contribute significantly to the areas of diabetic foot care, arthritic foot care, wound healing, and the diagnosis of vascular problems. Our staff includes the following podiatrists: Dr. Dickert and Dr. Jones are both on staff at Baystate Medical Center as well as Mercy Medical Center.
Dr. Dickert is a graduate of Florida State University and The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his training at The Newington Veterans Administration Medical Center in Newington, Connecticut. Dr. Dickert practices all aspects of podiatry. He has special interests in high-risk diabetic foot issues and wound care. Dr. Dickert is board certified by The American Board of Medical Specialties in Podiatry in podiatric medicine and surgery. He is the former Chief of Podiatry at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northampton, Massachusetts. He is a member of The Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and The American Podiatric Medical Society. Dr. Dickert founded Springfield Podiatry Associates in 1990. He is currently the managing partner.
Dr. Jones practices all aspects of podiatry. He has special interests in sports medicine and surgical correction of foot deformities. Dr. Jones is a graduate of The University of Cincinnati and The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his podiatric surgical training at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is a member of The Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society, The American Podiatric Medical Society, and The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is currently on staff at Baystate Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Jones joined Springfield Podiatry Associates in 2003.
